Kiambu Students Receive KSh14 Million Boost as Ann Wamuratha Rolls Out NGAAF Back-to-School Bursaries
Hundreds of needy students across Kiambu County have received a major education lifeline after Kiambu Woman Representative Ann Wamuratha disbursed bursary cheques worth KSh14 million under the National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF) Back-to-School Edition.
The bursary programme benefited students drawn from all 12 constituencies in Kiambu County, with the funds aimed at helping learners remain in school by easing the burden of school fees on struggling families.
The cheque disbursement exercise was marked by joy and optimism as beneficiaries and their parents expressed gratitude for the financial support, which comes at a critical time as schools continue with the academic calendar.
Speaking during the event, Wamuratha reaffirmed her commitment to ensuring that children from vulnerable backgrounds are not denied access to education because of financial challenges. She noted that investing in education remains one of the most effective ways of empowering communities and securing a brighter future for the next generation.
The Woman Representative emphasized that the NGAAF bursary programme is designed to support deserving students, reduce school dropouts, and promote equal access to education across Kiambu County.
The KSh14 million allocation is expected to benefit hundreds of learners, allowing them to continue with their studies without interruption while providing much-needed relief to parents facing economic hardships.
Wamuratha reiterated that education remains the foundation of social and economic transformation, pledging to continue championing initiatives that uplift families and create opportunities for young people to realize their full potential.
The latest bursary disbursement underscores the government's ongoing efforts through NGAAF to promote inclusive education and ensure that no child is left behind due to lack of school fees.
