The National Treasury has announced that the 2026/27 Budget Statement will be presented in Parliament on Thursday, June 11, 2026, beginning at 3:00 p.m.
In a public notice dated May 21, 2026, Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi Ng’ongo said the annual budget statement will outline the government’s spending priorities, revenue measures, and economic plans for the next financial year.
The announcement comes as Kenyans await key proposals expected to address the rising cost of living, economic growth, job creation, healthcare, education, infrastructure development, and public debt management.
“The Budget Statement for the financial year 2026/27 will be delivered by the Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury on Thursday, 11th June 2026 from 3:00 p.m. in Parliament,” the notice read in part.
The budget presentation is one of the most important events in Kenya’s economic calendar, as it sets out how the government intends to raise and spend public funds during the upcoming financial year.
Economic analysts and stakeholders are expected to closely follow the statement for possible tax adjustments, development allocations, and funding for key sectors of the economy.
Treasury CS John Mbadi is also expected to outline measures aimed at boosting economic recovery, supporting businesses, and strengthening service delivery across the country.
The budget reading will be conducted in Parliament and broadcast live across major media platforms.
