KSG Strengthens Collaboration with PSC to Advance Public Service Reforms

The Director General of the Kenya School of Government, Nura Mohamed, has reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to strengthening public service delivery through strategic collaboration with the Public Service Commission of Kenya.

Prof. Mohamed held a high-level engagement with PSC Chairperson Francis Meja, alongside Commissioner Francis Owino, who also serves as a member of the KSG Council. The discussions centered on enhancing cooperation between the two institutions in advancing the implementation of the Leadership Competency Framework for the Public Service through structured and targeted capacity development programs.

The leaders reiterated their shared commitment to co-developing a forward-looking competency framework tailored for the public service of the future. This framework will be anchored on the KSG Centre for Strategic Foresight and Public Service of the Future and aligned with Kenya’s long-term vision of transitioning into a first-world nation by 2055.

Further, the engagement underscored the importance of deepening collaboration through the KSG Public Service Assessment and Productivity Centre. This partnership is expected to support professionalized recruitment processes, promote merit-based career progression, and strengthen talent management systems across the public sector.

Prof. Mohamed emphasized that anchoring the public service on a robust competency framework is essential for enhancing efficiency, accountability, and service delivery. He noted that integrating emerging priorities such as Artificial Intelligence, customer service excellence, and culture transformation will be key in building a responsive, innovative, and citizen-centric public service.

The collaboration marks a significant step toward modernizing Kenya’s public administration and ensuring it is well-equipped to meet the evolving needs of citizens in a rapidly changing global landscape.
