Uasin Gishu Leaders Agree on New Road Repair Strategy
Members of the Uasin Gishu County Assembly have reached a consensus with the County Department of Roads on a new procedure for implementing road repair projects across the county.
Appearing before the Assembly’s special Committee on Roads, County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Roads, Abraham Serem, said the first phase of repairs in four wards, launched by Governor Jonathan Bii, has shown satisfactory results despite challenges posed by heavy rains.
“Efficiency in the initial wards has been encouraging, and we are committed to maintaining this standard as we expand the program,” Mr. Serem said.
Most ward representatives stressed the importance of adhering strictly to the agreed-upon procedures for road repair projects, warning against any unauthorized changes that could compromise quality and timelines.
Mr. Serem was accompanied by Chief Officer Geoffrey Tanui and Director of Roads Engineer Julius Ronoh during the discussions. Both officials highlighted the county’s commitment to improving road infrastructure and ensuring that projects are implemented transparently and efficiently.
The new strategy is expected to guide upcoming road repair projects across Uasin Gishu, with the goal of reducing delays and enhancing service delivery to residents.
