“They Confessed!” Armed Robbers Surrender After Mysterious Swarm of Bees Attacks

Residents of a quiet estate on the outskirts of Nairobi are still talking about the night everything turned upside down.

It was close to midnight when three armed men broke into a wholesale shop, overpowering the watchman and making away with cash and electronics worth hundreds of thousands of shillings. CCTV later showed them loading goods into a waiting vehicle before speeding off.

They thought it was a clean escape.

They were wrong.

The robbery that backfired

According to witnesses, the getaway car was later seen parked near a small farm about five kilometres away. That is where things took a strange turn.

Neighbours reported hearing loud screams around 1.30 am. At first, they assumed it was drunk revellers. But the screams grew more desperate.

When a few brave residents moved closer with torches, they saw something shocking.

The three suspected robbers were running wildly in circles, slapping their own bodies, abandoning the stolen goods and shouting for help. A massive swarm of bees had surrounded them.

One witness said, “They were crying and rolling on the ground. I have never seen anything like it.”

The farm owner later explained that there were several beehives on the property. The noise from the suspects arguing and revving their engine repeatedly is believed to have disturbed the bees.

Within minutes, the situation was out of control.

The men abandoned the vehicle, left behind the stolen items and ran straight toward the main road, where they flagged down a passing motorist and begged to be taken to hospital.

A confession no one expected

At the hospital, medical staff treated multiple bee stings. But what shocked police officers most was what happened next.

Instead of denying involvement, the men reportedly confessed.

According to a police source, one of them said, “We cannot continue like this. We almost died. It is better we tell the truth.”

All stolen goods were recovered intact.

Residents described the incident as unbelievable. Some even joked that nature itself had intervened.

But beyond the drama, the shop owner was left traumatised and angry.

“I worked for years to build this business. In one night, everything was almost gone,” he said.
