Teso South Opens NG-CDF Bursary Window for 2025/2026 Academic Year
By Daily Nation Reporter
The Teso South National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF) has announced the opening of bursary applications for the 2025/2026 financial year, in a move aimed at expanding access to education and cushioning needy learners against rising school fees.
The announcement was made by Teso South Member of Parliament, Hon. Mary Otucho Emaase, who reaffirmed her commitment to ensuring that no child is denied education due to financial hardship.
“Education remains the most powerful tool for breaking the cycle of poverty. Every child deserves a fair opportunity to pursue their dreams,” said the MP.
The bursaries target students from Teso South Constituency studying in day secondary schools outside the constituency, boarding secondary schools, TVET institutions, colleges, and universities.
According to the notice, applications will be received between January 15 and January 17, 2026.
Applicants have been urged to submit fully completed forms accompanied by all required documentation to avoid disqualification. The mandatory documents include copies of a birth certificate, admission letter, fees structure, latest report form or academic transcript, and a parent or guardian’s national ID.
The NG-CDF committee cautioned that incomplete applications will not be considered, emphasizing the need for accuracy and compliance with the stated requirements.
The bursary programme is part of Hon. Emaase’s broader education support agenda, which prioritizes equity, retention, and transition of learners across all levels of education, particularly for students from vulnerable households.
Over the years, the Teso South NG-CDF bursary scheme has played a critical role in keeping thousands of learners in school and easing the financial burden on families.
Hon. Emaase reiterated that her leadership will continue to place education at the centre of development efforts in the constituency.
“This is about securing the future of our children and investing in the human capital of Teso South,” she said.
