MP Delivers on New Year Promise as Three Wheelchairs Reach Persons Living with Disabilities in Marakwet West

Hon. Timothy Kipchumba Toroitich has fulfilled a commitment he made during the Joint Annual Kapsait Peace Meeting held on 1st January 2026, following through on his promise to support persons living with disabilities within the constituency.

Speaking after the successful delivery, the Marakwet West legislator announced that three wheelchairs were handed over yesterday to deserving individuals who are unable to walk due to disability-related conditions. The support was made possible through the Timothy Kipchumba Toroitich Foundation, which continues to champion inclusive community development.

“The promise I made at Kapsait was not merely symbolic. It was a commitment from the heart to ensure that no one in our community is left behind,” said Hon. Toroitich. “I am glad that these wheelchairs have now reached those in need, restoring dignity, mobility, and hope.”

The MP reiterated his dedication to supporting persons abled differently, noting that his foundation will continue sourcing assistive equipment to improve the quality of life for vulnerable members of society.

Hon. Toroitich emphasized that inclusivity remains a core value of his leadership, aligning with the constituency’s guiding principle of unity and care for all.

“In #LapkeiTai, we care for everybody,” he said. “Our strength as a people lies in how we treat the most vulnerable among us.”

He concluded by expressing gratitude to God and all partners who made the initiative possible, reaffirming his commitment to service.

“To God be the glory,” he said.

The initiative has been warmly received by community members, with beneficiaries and local leaders praising the MP for translating words into action and for promoting compassionate, people-centered leadership in Marakwet West.
