KUPPET Uasin Gishu Chairman Hails Landmark Victory, Calls for Unity as Union Eyes First Contract

KUPPET Uasin Gishu Branch Chairman Bro. Sosthen Bellat has hailed a decisive victory for teachers in the county, describing it as a triumph of faith, courage, and unity, and dedicating the win to all members of the union.

Speaking shortly after the announcement of the outcome, Bellat expressed gratitude to teachers for standing firm throughout the process, noting that the achievement marks a major milestone for the Kenya Union of Post-Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) in Uasin Gishu.

“Good people, we won. It is God,” Bellat said. “Thank you—thanks a million times. You are just awesome. This win belongs to all of us.”

The chairman emphasized that the success was not the effort of a few individuals but the collective resolve of teachers who chose unity over division and courage over fear. According to Bellat, the victory has laid a strong foundation for the union’s next critical phase—securing its first substantive contract.

“Onward to our first contract,” he declared, adding that the outcome proves that perseverance and solidarity yield results. “Courage and unity paid off.”

Bellat further urged members to remain steadfast and focused as the union transitions from victory to implementation, warning that sustained engagement and discipline will be key in the negotiations ahead. He reaffirmed the branch’s commitment to protecting teachers’ welfare and advancing their professional interests through lawful and consultative means.

He concluded by blessing union members and supporters, reiterating his appreciation for their trust and participation. “Stay blessed. Thank you once again,” he said.

The win is widely seen as a boost for KUPPET’s bargaining power in Uasin Gishu County and a signal of renewed momentum for post-primary education teachers seeking improved working conditions and recognition through structured agreements.
