Baringo County Receives Ambulances and Fire Truck in Boost to Emergency Services
Baringo County Government has received a significant boost to its emergency response capacity following the donation of two ambulances and a fire truck from the Gyeonggi Provincial Council, World Best Friend, and other development partners.
The donation underscores the strong and growing partnership between Baringo County and the Gyeonggi Provincial Council, a collaboration aimed at enhancing healthcare delivery and strengthening emergency response services across the county.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, county officials welcomed the support, noting that the new ambulances will improve patient referrals, reduce response times, and enhance access to lifesaving care, particularly in remote and hard-to-reach areas. The fire truck is expected to bolster the county’s disaster preparedness and response, especially in urban centers and institutions vulnerable to fire outbreaks.
“This donation comes at a critical time when the county is prioritizing the strengthening of its emergency and health systems,” said a senior county official. “The ambulances will directly support our health facilities, while the fire truck will significantly improve our capacity to respond to emergencies and protect lives and property.”
Representatives of the Gyeonggi Provincial Council and partner organizations reaffirmed their commitment to supporting Baringo County’s development agenda, highlighting the importance of international cooperation in addressing shared challenges such as healthcare access and disaster management.
The partnership between Baringo County and Gyeonggi Provincial Council has continued to grow over the years, with a focus on knowledge exchange, capacity building, and practical interventions that improve service delivery for residents.
Residents and healthcare workers alike expressed optimism that the donated vehicles will make a tangible difference, particularly in emergency medical response and disaster mitigation.
The county government reiterated its commitment to ensuring the donated equipment is well maintained and effectively deployed to maximize benefits for the people of Baringo, as it continues to strengthen partnerships that support sustainable development and improved quality of life.
