Senator Essy Okenyuri Celebrates Graduation from Parliamentary Practices Programme Focused on Gender Equality and Women Empowerment
Specially Elected Senator Essy Okenyuri Nyaituga Thursday marked a significant milestone in her leadership journey, celebrating her graduation from the Parliamentary Practices: Mainstreaming Gender Equality and Women Empowerment Programme. The programme, jointly offered by the Centre for Parliamentary Studies and Training (CPST)in collaboration with McGill University, has equipped her with advanced knowledge and skills central to strengthening gender-responsive governance.
Senator Okenyuri noted that the achievement represents growth, sacrifice, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to public service. She emphasized that the training has deepened her understanding of gender equality, inclusive leadership, and the critical role of institutions in fostering equitable development.
“This programme has renewed my dedication to utilizing my voice and my position in the Senate to champion a fairer, more equitable, and more just society,” she said. “Every stride taken in the pursuit of knowledge contributes immensely to better governance, stronger institutions, and an empowered nation.”
