Prophet Kanyari Pays Emotional Tribute as Late Ex-Wife Betty Bayo Laid to Rest

Renowned preacher Prophet Victor Kanyari has paid a heartfelt tribute to his late ex-wife, gospel singer Betty Bayo, following her burial today at the Kenyatta University Funeral Home.

An emotional Kanyari described the day as “one of the hardest” of his life, saying the pain of loss was eased only by the outpouring of love and support from family, friends, and fans.

“We’ve just laid my baby mama’s body to rest at the K.U funeral home, and I’m now back home — tired, heavy, but also deeply moved,” said Kanyari. “Your love, messages, prayers, and presence have given me strength when I had none left.”

The preacher expressed profound gratitude to his supporters, colleagues, and the public for standing by him during the difficult period, noting that their compassion had been his source of comfort and resilience.

Kanyari also extended appreciation to His Excellency President William Ruto, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, and former Deputy President Kalonzo Musyoka for their calls and messages of condolence.

“Your compassion has meant more than words can express,” he said, adding that he continues to draw light from the love surrounding him.

The late Betty Bayo, celebrated for her uplifting gospel music and strong Christian message, had touched many hearts through her songs and ministry. Her passing prompted an outpouring of tributes from fans, fellow musicians, and church leaders across the country.

In his closing message, Prophet Kanyari thanked Kenyans for their unwavering kindness, promising to keep them updated as he and the family continue to navigate the period of mourning.

“This pain is deep, but I’m finding light in the love surrounding me,” he shared. “From the bottom of my heart, thank you all — I see you, I feel you, and I’m grateful.”
