Isiolo South MP Mohamed Tubi Laid to Rest in Emotional Ceremony

Isiolo South Member of Parliament Mohamed Tubi was on Thursday laid to rest at the Tuloroba Muslim Cemetery in Isiolo Town, with hundreds of mourners gathering to honour the late legislator. The burial, conducted in accordance with Islamic traditions, drew local residents, religious leaders, and high-ranking government officials.

Among those who attended was National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, who led the nation in paying tribute to the MP, who passed away on Wednesday at Nairobi Hospital.

In his condolence message, Speaker Wetang’ula hailed the late Tubi as a peace-loving, selfless, and dedicated leader who remained committed to his constituents despite facing persistent health challenges.

Despite battling health challenges since his election, the late Tubi remained steadfast in serving his constituents and representing their interests in Parliament,” Wetang’ula said.

He commended Tubi for his strong stance on issues affecting Isiolo South, particularly matters of land governance, peace, and security, noting that his leadership left a lasting imprint on the community.

The Speaker called on residents to honour Tubi’s legacy by fostering unity, peaceful coexistence, and a collective commitment to development—values he said the late MP championed throughout his tenure.

Mourners described Tubi as a humble and hardworking servant of the people, whose contributions would continue to shape Isiolo South for years to come.

The funeral concluded with prayers for strength and comfort for the bereaved family, marking a solemn farewell to a respected leader.
