Uasin Gishu Nurses Champion Professional Excellence at 67th International Scientific Conference

Nurses from Uasin Gishu County have reaffirmed their dedication to professional excellence and compassionate care during the 67th International Annual Scientific Conference, where they showcased leadership, innovation, and a commitment to advancing healthcare delivery.

Guided by the timeless Nurses’ Pledge — a vow to uphold ethics, integrity, and service to humanity — the Uasin Gishu nursing fraternity made a strong impression at the conference, which drew delegates from across the country and beyond.

The event was held in collaboration with the County Government of Uasin Gishu, Moi University’s Africa Health Collaborative Project, and the Mastercard Foundation. It served as a platform for knowledge exchange, research dissemination, and professional development among nursing and midwifery practitioners.

Speaking during the conference, Director of Nursing Services Betty Chirchir commended the unwavering dedication of nurses to continuous learning and professional growth. She emphasized that lifelong education, mentorship, research, and digital capacity-building remain essential pillars for strengthening healthcare systems and improving patient outcomes.

“Nurses are at the heart of our healthcare system,” Chirchir said. “By embracing innovation and continuous development, we not only enhance our own skills but also elevate the quality of care we provide to our communities.”

The conference highlighted the evolving role of nurses in driving healthcare transformation through technology, leadership, and evidence-based practice. Participants shared research findings, best practices, and strategies for addressing emerging health challenges in Kenya and beyond.

As the sessions concluded, one message stood clear — that the nursing profession, deeply rooted in ethics and service, continues to evolve through education, collaboration, and innovation. For the Uasin Gishu nurses, the pledge to serve humanity with excellence remains not just a promise, but a living reality in every healthcare setting.
