Uasin Gishu Leaders Mourn the Passing of Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga
Uasin Gishu County leaders have joined the rest of the nation in mourning the death of former Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga, who passed away earlier this week. In a series of heartfelt tributes, political leaders from across the county expressed their deep sorrow, lauding the late statesman's enduring legacy as a freedom fighter, democrat, and unifying figure in Kenya’s political history.
Governor Jonathan Bii, in an emotional statement, described Raila Odinga as “an icon, an enigma, and a statesman whose vision and courage helped shape the destiny of our nation.” Extending condolences to the Odinga family, the Governor added, “The former Premier dedicated his life to the pursuit of justice, democracy, and unity. On behalf of the people of Uasin Gishu County, I extend my deepest condolences to Mama Ida Odinga, the family, and all Kenyans as we mourn this great leader.”
