RVTTI Benchmarks Australian Programs at The Eldoret National Polytechnic

A delegation from the Rift Valley Technical Training Institute (RVTTI) visited The Eldoret National Polytechnic (TENP) on Friday, October 31, 2025, to benchmark the implementation of the internationally recognized Australian Signet Programs currently being offered at TENP.

The benchmarking visit focused on the Liberal Studies Department, which offers two key Australian qualifications:

  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing and Disability)
  • Certificate IV in Ageing Support

These programs, introduced through international collaboration, are designed to equip trainees with practical, globally competitive skills in the field of community and aged care support. The RVTTI team expressed great admiration for TENP’s progress in implementing these hands-on, competency-based courses, noting that such initiatives are essential in enhancing employability and ensuring Kenyan graduates meet global industry standards.

The visiting team was warmly received by Ms. Peninnah Ogutu, Deputy Principal Academics, and Mr. David Chepkangor, Coordinator for Linkages and International Partnerships / Teaching and Learning Centre at TENP.

Speaking during the visit, Ms. Ogutu commended the ongoing partnerships that continue to position TENP as a leading institution in technical and vocational education. She highlighted that the Australian programs have not only strengthened the institution’s international profile but also provided a clear pathway for students seeking global career opportunities.

Mr. Chepkangor noted that benchmarking visits such as this foster collaboration and knowledge sharing among Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions, contributing to the overall improvement of training quality and relevance in the region.
