Mombasa fisherman rescued at sea claims mysterious voice guided him to safety after his boat capsized

A fisherman from Mombasa has captured national attention after claiming he survived a violent storm at sea by following what he described as a mysterious guiding voice. The 42-year-old man, identified as Salim Omar, said the voice directed him toward a floating object that helped him stay alive until rescuers arrived.

Omar, a long-time fisherman at the Likoni shores, said the incident happened late last Friday when his small wooden boat was struck by strong waves about four kilometres from the coastline. “The storm came suddenly. I tried to control the boat, but it flipped. I was sure I would die,” he recounted in a calm tone.

According to Omar, he floated helplessly for nearly twenty minutes before hearing a calm, steady voice telling him not to panic. “It kept saying, ‘Hold on, your time is not over.’ I thought I was imagining things, but then I saw a large piece of wood drifting towards me.
