KNCCI Strengthens Kenya–UAE Trade Links Under Dr. Erick Rutto’s Leadership

The Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) President, Dr. Erick Rutto, today met with representatives from the Fujairah Chamber of Commerce (UAE) to explore new opportunities for trade and investment between Kenya and the United Arab Emirates.

The visiting delegation from Fujairah promoted their port as the preferred gateway for Kenyan exports and imports, citing its ease of business setup compared to Dubai and the growing strength of Kenya–UAE trade relations. They also emphasized UAE’s increasing demand for Kenyan livestock and meat products, identifying it as a quick-win area for collaboration and mutual growth.

Dr. Rutto reaffirmed KNCCI’s commitment to deepening international trade partnerships and announced plans to advocate for the ratification of the SEPA (Strategic Economic Partnership Agreement) to make trade between the two countries more seamless and efficient.

He also proposed closer cooperation between the two chambers to ensure that only genuine traders participate in cross-border trade, a move aimed at curbing fraud and enhancing trust among business partners.

Under Dr. Rutto’s visionary leadership, KNCCI has continued to position itself as a key driver of Kenya’s economic diplomacy—promoting trade, investment, and industrial growth while opening new frontiers for Kenyan businesses in global markets.

Dr. Rutto’s proactive engagement with international partners has earned KNCCI recognition as a credible bridge between the private sector and foreign investors, ensuring that Kenyan enterprises benefit from fair, transparent, and sustainable trade relations.
