Kaptiony Secondary School Laboratory Completed Ahead of National Exams

Students at Kaptiony Secondary School in Marakwet West Constituency will sit their national examinations with a significant advantage this year, following the timely completion of a modern science laboratory at the school.

The project, funded and overseen by the office of Marakwet West MP Timothy Kipchumba Toroitich, is part of a broader initiative to improve education infrastructure across the constituency, with a strong focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

MP Toroitich emphasized his commitment to transforming learning institutions in alignment with the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC). He noted that quality science facilities are essential for practical learning and better performance in STEM subjects.

“Our commitment to transforming learning institutions in Marakwet West is not negotiable,” said Toroitich. “We are intentional in ensuring that every project we implement supports competency-based learning, especially in key areas like science and technology.”

The laboratory will now provide students with a conducive environment for experiments and hands-on learning, a major boost as they prepare for upcoming national examinations.

Local education stakeholders and parents have welcomed the development, saying it will help bridge the gap in science education that has long hampered academic performance in the region.

The Kaptiony Secondary School laboratory is one of several education projects currently underway in Marakwet West, as part of a long-term strategy to promote academic excellence and empower youth through modern education infrastructure.
