Suspect Arrested in Connection with Violent Robbery in Parklands, Police Recover Key Evidence
Police in Nairobi have arrested a suspect in connection with a robbery with violence incident that took place in Parklands on June 28, 2025. The arrest marks a major breakthrough in the case, which has attracted public concern due to the violent nature of the crime.
According to a statement released by the National Police Service (NPS), detectives working on the case identified a vehicle believed to have been used in the commission of the robbery. After a coordinated operation and intensive investigations, the suspect was apprehended in Eldoret Town on July 2, 2025.
During the arrest, officers recovered a silver Toyota Axio, which is believed to have been used during the robbery. A search of the vehicle uncovered several suspicious items, including:
-
A reflector jacket
-
A police headdress with a white cover
-
Two different vehicle registration plates
The discovery of these items has raised suspicions that the suspect may have been impersonating a law enforcement officer or using deceptive tactics to carry out criminal activities.
Suspect in Custody, Investigation Ongoing
The suspect and all recovered exhibits were transported to Parklands Police Station in Nairobi, where further questioning and forensic analysis are ongoing. Authorities have not yet released the suspect's identity, citing the need to protect the integrity of the ongoing investigation.
“The arrest and recovery of key evidence is a significant step toward justice for the victims. We commend the investigators for their swift and professional work,” said the National Police Service in its official statement.
The NPS reiterated its commitment to the rule of law and public safety, assuring residents that all efforts are being made to bring those involved in violent and organized crime to justice.
Public Urged to Remain Vigilant
Police have also urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity, especially incidents involving individuals posing as police officers or using official-looking items to gain trust or access.
“Impersonating law enforcement undermines public trust and puts innocent lives at risk. We urge Kenyans to be alert and always verify the identity of anyone claiming to be an officer,” the statement added.
As the investigation continues, the arrest is being seen as a strong message to criminal networks operating within urban areas that law enforcement is fully engaged and determined to disrupt their activities.
