Police Mount Roadblocks Across Nairobi Ahead of Saba Saba Demonstrations
Security has been heightened in Nairobi as police mounted roadblocks at key entry and exit points across the city ahead of the planned Saba Saba demonstrations.
The move comes as authorities brace for nationwide protests led by Generation Z activists, who have vowed to take to the streets in what they describe as a peaceful push for accountability, justice, and governance reforms.
Multiple roadblocks were reported along major roads including Thika Superhighway, Mombasa Road, Lang’ata Road, and Kangundo Road, causing traffic snarl-ups and delays for commuters. Police officers were seen inspecting vehicles and questioning drivers and passengers.
