Eldoret Court to Sentence Serial Killer Evans Juma

Eldoret High Court will today,July 4, 2025, sentence self-confessed serial killer Evans Juma Wanjala who is linked to the killing of five minors Moi’sbridge, Uasin Gishu County.

This was after the Justice Reuben Nyakundi found him guilty for heinous act of murdering the minors aged between 10 and 15 years.

The judge directed that the convict be escorted back to Eldoret GK remand prison until the day of his sentencing.

Wanjala had made shocking confessions to the detectives attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters in Nairobi.

He gave a orderly detailed account of how he defiled before strangling to death one of the victims.The statement from the DCI presented in court during the hearing sessions showed how brutally he ended the lives of the five minors.

In his ruling, Justice Nyakundi found Wanjala guilty of defiling and strangling to death one of his victims, Stacy Nabiso, 10 six years ago.The Judge relied on a medical report and other evidence produced in court by forensic experts who were among key witnesses in the murder trial.

The court heard that DNA analysis showed that samples collected from the minor’s t-shirt and underwear matched with those taken from Wanjala.

During the trial, Wanjala had made an application to enter into a plea bargain with the family of the victim but they turned down the request.

Sharon Sakwa, the mother to the deceased termed the application by Wanjala as a mockery to her family bearing in mind that her only daughter was subjected to a painful and horrifying death.

The court also heard that Wanjala has three other pending charges related to sexual offences in Makindu where arrest warrants had been issued.
