300 Widows Empowered with Gas Cylinders and Burners in Moisbridge

 In a bold step toward sustainable empowerment, 300 widows from Moisbridge Ward received gas cylinders and burners today, marking the official launch of the first phase of a life-transforming program spearheaded by area MCA Patrick Kimeli.

The initiative, aimed at easing the burden of daily cooking while promoting clean energy use, was rolled out at a well-attended community event that drew joy and appreciation from local residents. Each beneficiary received a 6kg gas cylinder, burner, and regulator – a complete clean cooking package.

“This is just the beginning,” MCA Kimeli said. “Today’s event is not just about giving out gas cylinders. It’s about restoring dignity, easing hardship, and opening new chapters in the lives of our widowed mothers and sisters.”

Beneficiaries thanked the MCA for the timely initiative, saying it will transform their lives in meaningful ways. Many shared that they had been relying on firewood, which was not only tiring to collect but also exposed them to health and safety risks.

“We are so grateful,” said Mama Esther, one of the recipients. “This gas burner will save us time and energy. Firewood was hard to find and made us inhale smoke every day. Now we can cook with ease and dignity.”

Another widow added, “This is the first time some of us are using gas to cook. It feels like we are finally being seen and supported. God bless our MCA.”

The MCA reaffirmed his commitment to transforming lives with focus and truth, promising that more phases are coming soon to reach even more vulnerable households across the ward.

"I love you all, Moisbridgeans," he added passionately. "This is your leadership. One built on compassion, action, and results. We’re building a community where no one is left behind."

This empowerment program forms part of MCA Kimeli’s broader agenda to improve household welfare, encourage cleaner energy alternatives, and support marginalized groups through sustainable development.
