 As the summer transfer window opens, Arsenal Football Club is wasting no time in reinforcing its squad in preparation for what promises to be a defining season. After finishing as strong title contenders in the 2024/25 Premier League campaign, the Gunners are focused on narrowing the gap between promise and silverware.

Manager Mikel Arteta has made it clear that adding firepower up front is a priority. Sources close to the club, including Sky Sports and The Athletic, report that Arsenal is pursuing Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyökeres. The Swedish international has impressed with his physicality, link-up play, and clinical finishing, making him a leading candidate to spearhead Arsenal’s attack.

Also on Arsenal’s radar is Alexander Isak of Newcastle United. The Swedish striker, known for his versatility and flair, fits the Gunners’ attacking style but comes with a significant price tag that could complicate negotiations. Meanwhile, talks are reportedly ongoing with RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Šeško, the 22-year-old Slovenian talent who has caught the attention of Europe’s elite.

In midfield, Martín Zubimendi of Real Sociedad is being lined up as a potential long-term replacement for Thomas Partey, who has struggled with injuries and is now in his 30s. The Gunners are also keen on strengthening their defense, with Riccardo Calafiori of Bologna emerging as a prime target. The Italian defender’s ability to play both centrally and at left-back, combined with his Champions League experience, makes him an attractive option.

On the departure front, Emile Smith Rowe could be on his way out after a difficult season marked by inconsistent form and limited playing time. Promising youngster Ethan Nwaneri and Lewis Skelly—the latter reportedly drawing interest from Real Madrid—may also exit if the right offers come in. Eddie Nketiah is another player likely to depart, with Crystal Palace among several Premier League clubs showing interest.

With Champions League football secured for next season and a solid foundation in place, this transfer window is shaping up to be one of the most crucial in Arsenal’s recent history.
