Mwea MP Mary Maingi Praises Progress of Karira Bridge Project
Mary Maingi has expressed satisfaction with the ongoing construction of the Karira Bridge, following a recent inspection visit to the site.
The legislator noted that the project, located in Mwea, is advancing steadily and already showing signs of transforming connectivity in the area. She emphasized that the bridge holds significant value for the local community, both in terms of infrastructure and socio-economic development.
According to Maingi, the Karira Bridge project is more than just a transport link—it represents a commitment to improving safety and easing movement for residents who have long faced challenges crossing the area, especially during adverse weather conditions.
She also highlighted the employment opportunities generated by the construction works, pointing out that many young people from the region have been engaged in the project. This, she said, has enabled them to earn a livelihood while contributing directly to the development of their community.
“As the bridge takes shape, it is a clear sign that development is ongoing and that our focus remains on uplifting lives and strengthening our communities,” Maingi remarked.
Once completed, the Karira Bridge is expected to enhance mobility, boost local trade, and provide a safer, more reliable crossing for residents and businesses alike.
