David Kiplagat Endorses Julius Bitok for Uasin Gishu Governor, Predicts Landslide Win
Soy Member of Parliament Hon. David Kiplagat has publicly endorsed Principal Secretary for Basic Education Julius Kibet Bitok for the Uasin Gishu gubernatorial seat, signaling what could shape the county’s political landscape ahead of the next elections.
Speaking during a development tour in Soy Constituency, Kiplagat praised Bitok’s leadership record and commitment to public service, describing him as a capable leader with the vision needed to steer Uasin Gishu to greater heights.
The legislator expressed confidence that Bitok would secure victory if he decides to enter the gubernatorial race, citing growing support across the county and within Soy Constituency. Kiplagat said residents were ready to rally behind a leader who has demonstrated results in national government and maintained close ties with grassroots communities.
“I am convinced that with the support of the people of Soy and the wider Uasin Gishu County, Julius Bitok will easily win the governor’s seat,” Kiplagat said.
The endorsement comes amid increasing political speculation over potential contenders for the county’s top seat. Bitok, who currently serves as Principal Secretary in the State Department for Basic Education, has recently intensified engagements in various parts of Uasin Gishu, fueling discussions about his political ambitions.
Kiplagat urged local leaders and residents to unite behind transformative leadership, saying the county requires experienced individuals capable of accelerating development, improving service delivery, and creating opportunities for young people.
Political observers view the endorsement as a significant boost for Bitok, given Kiplagat’s influence in Soy Constituency and his growing profile within the region’s political circles.
While Bitok has not officially declared his candidature, his increasing visibility in the county continues to attract attention as political realignments gather momentum ahead of the next electoral cycle.
