Kokwongoi Primary School Undergoes Major Transformation in Lelan Ward
Kokwongoi Primary School in Lelan Ward, Marakwet West Constituency, has undergone a major transformation following a sustained infrastructure upgrade initiative led by Marakwet West Member of Parliament, Hon. Timothy Kipchumba Toroitich.
The school, which was previously in a dilapidated state, has been renovated as part of a broader commitment by the MP to improve learning conditions across public institutions in the constituency. According to Hon. Toroitich, Kokwongoi Primary School was among the schools identified as requiring urgent intervention when he assumed office.
Speaking while highlighting the project, the MP said the transformation reflects his administration’s focus on education as a key pillar of development in Marakwet West. The upgraded facilities now provide a safer and more conducive learning environment for pupils and teachers, a move expected to improve academic outcomes.
The changes are evident in comparative “before” and “after” images of the school, which show significant improvements in infrastructure and overall appearance. Local residents and parents have welcomed the development, saying it will restore confidence in public education within the area.
Hon. Toroitich reaffirmed his commitment to continuing similar projects across the constituency, noting that more learning institutions are slated for improvement. He emphasized that investment in education remains a top priority of his leadership agenda.
The MP concluded by expressing gratitude to stakeholders who supported the project and attributed the successful transformation to collective effort and faith, saying the initiative was undertaken “to the glory of God.”
