Kigame Decries Destruction of Kenya’s Future, Calls for Responsible Leadership
Presidential candidate Dr. Reuben Kigame has issued a strong appeal for national responsibility and unity, warning that the actions of a few are endangering the future of Kenya’s children and young people.
Speaking at dawn in Bunyore as he saw off his son to school, Dr. Kigame said the moment stirred deep reflection about the country’s direction and the burden being placed on the next generation. He expressed anguish that, in his words, “about 3,000 people can willfully destroy the future for millions of young Kenyans,” through decisions and actions that undermine governance, accountability, and social cohesion.
“As a father and as a Kenyan, my heart bleeds,” Kigame said. “When I look at my son and think of all the young people across this country, I am reminded that leadership is not about power or privilege, but about safeguarding tomorrow. We cannot mortgage the dreams of our children for short-term gain.”
The presidential hopeful emphasized that Kenya’s challenges—from economic strain to social unrest—require honest leadership and collective resolve. He urged citizens to reject cynicism and disengagement, calling instead for active participation in building institutions that work for all.
“We must make Kenya work for us and for our children,” Kigame said. “That means choosing integrity over impunity, service over self-interest, and hope over despair. The future of this nation depends on the choices we make today.”
Dr. Kigame has consistently framed his campaign around ethical leadership, inclusivity, and intergenerational justice, positioning the welfare of young people as central to Kenya’s path forward.
