Matili TTI Maintains Open Governance in Response to Concerns

The Chairperson of the Matili Technical Training Institute (TTI) Board of Governors, Prof. Okumu Bigambo, has responded to claims suggesting irregularities in the institution’s tendering processes, emphasizing that the institute operates with transparency and in full compliance with government regulations.

Prof. Bigambo has encouraged members of the public, auditors, and regulatory authorities to visit the institution and verify its records.

 “Matili TTI is above board 

. Anyone is welcome to visit and audit. We have nothing to hide,” he said, stressing that the allegations were unfounded.

The chairperson highlighted that the institute was recently recognized nationally for its management and governance standards. Three months ago, President William Ruto awarded Matili TTI the title of “Best Managed Technical Training Institute” following a thorough government audit, which confirmed the institution’s adherence to financial, operational, and administrative best practices.

“That’s a statement by an inhuman and selfish person,” Prof. Bigambo said, referring to the source of the claims. 

Matili TTI, located in Bungoma County, has in recent years gained a reputation for excellence in technical education. Its leadership points to strong governance, robust infrastructure, and a focus on quality training as pillars of its success.

The board chairperson also stressed that anyone interested in reviewing the institution’s operations is welcome to do so, reinforcing the institute’s commitment to openness and accountability. He urged the public to base opinions on verified facts rather than unverified claims, highlighting that such allegations can undermine the hard work of staff and students alike.

As technical training institutes across the country continue to play a vital role in national development, Matili TTI maintains its position as a model of transparency, efficiency, and student-focused education.
