Police Nab Serial Robber in Likoni Following Public Tip-Off

 

Police in Likoni Sub-County have arrested a notorious robbery suspect believed to be behind a string of criminal incidents across the region. The arrest was made on July 4, 2025, following a successful operation by officers from Vijiweni Police Station, who acted on a public tip-off.

The suspect was apprehended at his hideout in the Maweche area, where he had been evading capture. Authorities confirmed that the individual is currently out on bail for similar robbery offences, which are still pending before the court.

“This individual has been a key suspect in a series of robberies that have terrorized residents in Likoni. His arrest is a significant breakthrough in our efforts to improve security,” said a police spokesperson.

The suspect remains in police custody, awaiting formal processing and arraignment in court, where he will face fresh charges related to his latest alleged crimes.

The National Police Service (NPS) commended members of the public for their cooperation and timely information, which was instrumental in tracking down the suspect.

“We thank the public for their vigilance and encourage continued collaboration. Security is a shared responsibility, and such partnerships are vital in curbing crime,” the NPS statement read.

Investigations are ongoing, with police indicating that more arrests could follow as they pursue leads linked to the suspect’s criminal network.
