Lusaka Shakes Up Bungoma Cabinet in Major Reshuffle to Boost Efficiency
Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka has announced a sweeping reshuffle in his county cabinet, signaling a renewed push to enhance service delivery, improve departmental efficiency, and align governance structures with his administration's core priorities.
Addressing the press in Webuye, Governor Lusaka said the changes were made under Article 179 of the Constitution and the County Governments Act, and are part of a broader strategy to place the right talent in the right positions for maximum impact.
“These adjustments are strategic and performance-driven. They are intended to match skills with responsibilities and ensure that all departments are functioning optimally in delivering services to the people of Bungoma,” Lusaka said.
Key Changes in the Reshuffle

Chrispinus Barasa, formerly the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Finance, has been moved to the Department of Health.

Caro Makali, previously in charge of Health and a CPA finalist with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, will now head the Finance Department. Makali has also served as CECM for Trade, Energy, and Industrialization.

Andrew Wamukoya transitions from Chief Officer for Economic Planning to the Governor’s Office as Chief Officer.

At the directorate level, Ambrose Makokha, previously Director of Accounting Services, will now serve as Director of Finance in the Health Department.

Gregory Furaha takes over from Makokha in the Accounting Services docket.

Leonard Nandemu has been moved to the Department of Agriculture, while Joliff Chongin will now serve in the Department of Livestock.

In a new advisory role, Adrian Sakwa has been appointed as the Governor’s Advisor on Gender Affairs.
Focus on Accountability and Performance
Governor Lusaka emphasized that the reshuffle is not a punitive measure but a proactive move to reposition his government for better service delivery. He reiterated his commitment to performance-based leadership and accountability in public service.
“We will continue to assess and reorganize where necessary to ensure that the right people are in the right roles for optimal results,” he noted.
The Governor also hinted at further changes in the coming months, urging all county staff to uphold professionalism, efficiency, and dedication in the execution of their duties.
