Suspects Nabbed, Narcotics Seized in Major Kasarani Drug Bust
In a significant anti-narcotics operation earlier today, officers from the National Police Service (NPS) arrested three suspects and seized a substantial quantity of suspected narcotics in the Kasarani area of Nairobi.
According to police sources, the operation was intelligence-led and targeted a suspected drug distribution ring operating within the area. During the raid, officers recovered approximately 50 kilograms of cannabis sativa (commonly known as bhang), 30 hash-infused cookies, and 810 rolls of bhang, all of which were confiscated and secured as exhibits.
The three suspects are currently being held in police custody and are expected to be arraigned in court in the coming days. Authorities believe the seizure is a major blow to local drug networks operating within Nairobi and its environs.
In a statement, the National Police Service reiterated its unwavering commitment to combating drug abuse and trafficking across the country.
“We remain steadfast in our mission to dismantle drug networks through sustained, intelligence-led operations. We continue to call on members of the public to work with us in safeguarding our communities from the harmful effects of drug use and trafficking,” the statement read.
The operation marks yet another milestone in the NPS’s broader crackdown on narcotics, which has seen increased coordination with local communities and other security agencies.
