Speaking from his constituency in Murang’a, Nyoro, known for his fiery political rhetoric and nationalistic pride, couldn’t hide his joy over United’s commanding performance, which he said reminded the world who really runs football.
“Sisi kama Manchester United, we need security yawa,” Nyoro quipped in a blend of Kiswahili and English. “We must be respected. We are not just a football club; we are a movement. A culture. A legacy.”
The MP, a long-time Red Devils supporter, likened Manchester United’s commanding win to Africa’s rising position in global affairs.
“We are African and Africa is our business,” he declared. “Just like Manchester United dominates football, Africa must dominate global trade and policy. Discipline. Vision. Results. That is what we are about.”
Nyoro took a light-hearted jab at rival teams, saying that United allows “smaller teams” to win only when they feel like it—“a sign of mercy, not weakness.”
“We win when we want,” he said. “And when we win, we win big. Let other teams know their place. Tuheshimu Manchester United tafadhali!”
