Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya reaffirmed his commitment to public service and grassroots engagement during a visit to Kakamega County, where he met with residents at Shinyalu Market and Khayega town.
Accompanied by Saboti MP Caleb Amisi and a delegation of Trans Nzoia Members of County Assembly (MCAs) led by Deputy Speaker Obed Mwale, Governor Natembeya addressed enthusiastic crowds, emphasizing the importance of unity across counties and responsive leadership.
“The privilege of meeting my people is one I never take for granted,” Natembeya said, drawing cheers from the crowd. “Listening to your voices and sharing our vision for development is what guides us forward.”
The Governor’s visit, although outside his county, highlighted the growing regional political cooperation between Trans Nzoia and Kakamega counties. Observers say the move may signal broader coalition-building efforts ahead of the next general election.
During the engagements, Natembeya also discussed matters related to youth empowerment, agricultural support, and improved service delivery at the county level. He called on local leaders to work together regardless of political affiliation to address the pressing needs of their constituents.
Residents praised the Governor’s accessibility and dedication, with many expressing hope that such interactions would translate into improved policies and inter-county collaboration.
