The Department of Economic Planning, in collaboration with the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS), is currently working on the development of the County Statistical Abstract (CSA) 2025, which aims to enhance the effectiveness of policy formulation, planning, budgeting, and monitoring and evaluation at the county level.
In a bid to ensure the successful implementation of the CSA 2025, the department held a briefing meeting with departmental champions on wednesday, marking an important milestone ahead of the data collection phase. The meeting was designed to set the stage for the collaborative efforts needed to develop a comprehensive statistical abstract for the county.
During the session, Jackline Masit, the Head of the Statistics Unit, emphasized the critical role of the CSA in enabling evidence-based decision-making at the county level. She stressed that reliable, accurate, and up-to-date data is essential for effective governance and development planning.
The CSA will provide a structured and accessible platform for county leaders to base their decisions, ensuring that strategies are informed by the most current statistical data available.
Mr.Michael Ndolo, the Director of Monitoring and Evaluation, further reinforced the importance of a collaborative approach in producing the CSA. He called upon the departmental champions to remain fully engaged and dedicated to supporting the Department of Economic Planning in its efforts to develop the CSA 2025.
His comments highlighted that the successful completion of the project will depend on the sustained commitment and cooperation of all stakeholders involved.
The CSA 2025 is anticipated to play a vital role in shaping county policies by providing reliable statistical data, which will serve as the foundation for informed decision-making. This initiative is expected to drive meaningful progress in county development, as it will enable county government to design and implement policies that are grounded in data, ultimately leading to better outcomes for the people they serve.
