Uasin Gishu gubernatorial aspirant Willy Kenei has intensified his engagement with residents and community leaders as he continues to position himself ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Kenei recently hosted Elder Paul Matelong from Chereber, Tarakwa Ward, at his office for a courtesy call, where they held discussions on issues affecting residents across Uasin Gishu County.

According to Kenei, the meeting focused on economic empowerment, job creation, improved public services and measures to enhance the livelihoods of county residents.

The businessman-turned-politician also used the meeting to outline his vision and leadership aspirations for the 2027 gubernatorial race, promising to pursue policies aimed at creating greater economic opportunities and strengthening businesses across the county.

Kenei said his administration, if elected, would prioritize better public services, accountable leadership, inclusivity and equitable development.

He thanked Matelong for the visit and for sharing ideas and perspectives on the challenges facing communities in Uasin Gishu.

“Meaningful transformation begins with listening to the people and working together to find practical solutions to the challenges facing our communities,” Kenei said.

He maintained that transforming Uasin Gishu would require the collective efforts of leaders, professionals, business people, farmers, youth, women and other residents.

Kenei has subsequently called on residents to join what he described as a movement for a “new direction” in the county, anchored on economic empowerment, accountability and improved service delivery.

The aspirant said his ultimate goal is to build a Uasin Gishu where opportunities are accessible to all and prosperity is broadly shared.

“The time for a new direction is now. The time to build the Uasin Gishu we deserve is now,” Kenei said.

Kenei's continued grassroots engagements come as the race to succeed Governor Jonathan Bii in 2027 begins to attract growing political attention, with various aspirants positioning themselves ahead of the highly anticipated contest.
