Eldoret City is preparing to host one of the most influential and high-impact business gatherings in the North Rift region as the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry) – Uasin Gishu Chapter officially announced the 4th Eldoret International Business Summit 2026.
The summit is scheduled to take place from 23rd to 25th July 2026 at the iconic Rupa Grounds, a venue that has increasingly established itself as a central hub for major economic, public, and private sector engagements within the region. Over the years, the summit has grown significantly in both scale and influence, transforming into a premier platform that attracts participation not only from across Kenya but also from across East Africa and international business networks.
The event is expected to bring together hundreds of delegates representing a wide spectrum of stakeholders. These include senior government officials, corporate executives, investors, development partners, innovators, entrepreneurs, manufacturers, exporters, academics, financial institutions, and youth-led enterprise groups. The diversity of participants reflects the summit’s growing importance as a convergence point for ideas, investment opportunities, and strategic partnerships.
Speaking ahead of the event, KNCCI Uasin Gishu Chairman Willy Kenei emphasized that the summit has been carefully designed to accelerate trade, strengthen investment linkages, and further position Eldoret as a strategic economic and logistics hub within Kenya and the wider East African region. He noted that the summit has evolved over time from a regional business forum into a powerful platform that shapes economic dialogue, fosters partnerships, and drives enterprise development.
According to Kenei, the annual gathering continues to provide businesses with a structured environment where they can directly engage policymakers, investors, and industry leaders. It also offers a unique space where enterprises can explore new markets, form meaningful partnerships, and identify innovative solutions to emerging economic challenges. He further highlighted Eldoret’s increasing importance as a commercial powerhouse, attributing this growth to its strategic geographic location, strong agricultural base, expanding infrastructure, and its vibrant and youthful entrepreneurial population.
Marketed under the vision “Eldoret City – The Gateway to Africa’s Trade, Innovation and Economic Future,” the summit seeks to reinforce Eldoret’s identity as a fast-rising center of commerce and innovation. Positioned within Kenya’s North Rift economic belt, the city plays a critical role in connecting agricultural production zones with national and regional markets. Continued investment in infrastructure, transport systems, education, and industrial expansion has further strengthened its appeal as a destination for both local and international investors.
The region continues to experience rapid growth across several key sectors, including agribusiness and value addition, manufacturing and industrial production, transport and logistics, real estate development, education and skills training, digital technology and innovation, healthcare systems, and renewable energy solutions. The summit aims to deepen conversations around these sectors while unlocking practical opportunities that can translate into sustainable economic growth, job creation, and increased regional competitiveness.
The 4th edition of the Eldoret International Business Summit will feature a wide range of engagement opportunities designed to maximize interaction, visibility, and collaboration among participants. These will include large-scale business exhibitions where companies and organizations will showcase their products and services, as well as investor roundtables that will facilitate direct engagement between capital providers and entrepreneurs. Structured business-to-business matchmaking sessions will also allow enterprises to identify potential partners, while cross-border trade discussions will explore regional integration opportunities. In addition, enterprise development workshops, startup pitch forums, industry-focused breakout sessions, and strategic networking engagements will ensure that participants experience meaningful business value beyond formal discussions.
The summit is also expected to provide critical exposure for small and medium-sized enterprises, which remain a key driver of Kenya’s economy. By connecting SMEs with larger corporations, investors, and development institutions, the event will help expand access to markets, financing, mentorship, and long-term growth opportunities.
A central highlight of the summit is its strong emphasis on innovation, youth empowerment, and entrepreneurship. Over time, the Eldoret International Business Summit has positioned itself as a launchpad for emerging ideas, particularly through structured initiatives that link academia, industry, and investment ecosystems. This focus reflects a broader vision of ensuring that innovation is not only encouraged but also actively supported through practical pathways that lead to commercialization and real economic impact.
A major feature of this year’s summit will be the KNCCI Uasin Gishu Chapter Innovation Challenge 2026, an initiative organized by the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry) in partnership with The Cube Innovation Hub (The Cube Innovation Hub). The program runs throughout the summit and continues beyond it, ensuring sustained engagement with innovators and startups.
Guided by the theme “Where Academia Meets Industry,” the Innovation Challenge is designed to bridge the long-standing gap between academic learning and real-world industry application. It seeks to identify promising ideas from young innovators, students, and startups while providing them with structured mentorship, incubation support, pitching platforms, and opportunities for investor engagement. The initiative also promotes commercialization by helping transform early-stage ideas into viable, market-ready solutions.
The program targets a wide range of participants, including university students, graduates, TVET institutions, technical trainees, independent young entrepreneurs, and research-based innovators. It focuses on key sectors such as digital technology, agricultural innovation, healthcare solutions, education technology, climate action, manufacturing, and social impact development. Through this structured approach, the initiative aims to ensure that innovation contributes directly to economic transformation and job creation.
Applications for participation in the Innovation Challenge are currently open and can be submitted through the official portal at https://the-cube.co.ke/innovation-challenge.
Another major highlight of the summit will be the Eldoret International Business Summit Golf Tournament, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 25th July 2026 at the historic Eldoret Club. The tournament is expected to bring together corporate leaders, investors, entrepreneurs, and professionals in a relaxed sporting environment designed to foster informal networking and relationship building. Participants will also benefit from sponsorship visibility, team participation opportunities, and strategic business matchmaking in an informal yet highly impactful setting.
In a move aimed at encouraging inclusive participation, the organizers have announced that entry to the summit will be free of charge. This decision is intended to ensure that entrepreneurs, students, SMEs, professionals, and members of the public can access the platform without financial barriers. As a result, the summit is expected to attract an even broader audience from across Kenya and beyond, further strengthening Eldoret’s position as a regional hub for trade, innovation, and investment.
The KNCCI Uasin Gishu Chapter continues to encourage businesses, institutions, development partners, government agencies, and private investors to register early in order to secure participation in exhibitions, sponsorship opportunities, strategic partnerships, and investor engagement forums. Organizers have emphasized that early registration will enable participants to maximize visibility and fully benefit from the diverse
opportunities available throughout the three-day event.
As anticipation builds, the 4th Eldoret International Business Summit 2026 is expected to reaffirm Eldoret’s growing status as one of East Africa’s most dynamic centers for commerce, innovation, industrial development, and entrepreneurship. It represents not just an event, but a long-term vision aimed at strengthening enterprises, expanding markets, attracting investment, and creating sustainable economic opportunities for the region and beyond.
