Cherargei Condemns Alleged Attack on Gladys Boss Shollei, Calls for Probe

Nandi senator Kiprotich Cherargei has strongly condemned the alleged attack on Deputy Speaker Gladys Boss Shollei during an incident in Moiben, describing the occurrence as unfortunate and deeply troubling.

Speaking after the incident, the outspoken Senator said the events reflected concerns he had previously raised in the Senate over the alleged use of political goons to intimidate leaders and disrupt public gatherings. He linked the matter to claims he has repeatedly made against Jonathan Bii Chelilim, popularly known as Koti Moja.

Cherargei urged investigative agencies, including the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), to immediately launch investigations and bring those responsible to justice.

“This kind of political intolerance should not be allowed in a democratic society,” Cherargei said, adding that leaders must be free to engage with wananchi without fear of intimidation or violence.

The alleged attack has sparked political debate in the Rift Valley region, with leaders calling for calm and restraint as investigations begin.
