Bayete Residents Rally Behind County as Key Road Projects Gain Momentum
Residents of Bayete in Tarakwa Ward, Kesses Sub-County, have thrown their weight behind ongoing county development projects following a high-level inspection of critical road infrastructure.
The County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Roads, Transport and Public Works, Abraham Serem, on Wednesday toured several project sites to assess progress and address local concerns. Among the key installations inspected were Kabyemit Bridge, the Bayete–Rurigi–Burnt Forest road, Kabyemit–Emkwen road, and the Kabuson–Nyamolo–Bayete road.
Speaking during the visit, Serem assured residents that the county government, under Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii, remains firmly committed to completing all ongoing projects and resolving outstanding issues affecting the community.
He announced plans for additional improvements, including drainage works, murraming, and compaction at Bayete Centre to enhance road durability and ensure all-weather accessibility.
The inspection tour was met with optimism from local residents, who praised the administration for responding to their grievances with concrete action. Community leaders Mzee Moses Koech and Josiah Biwot led residents in pledging their full support for the successful implementation of the projects.
The infrastructure upgrades are expected to significantly improve transport, boost local economic activity, and enhance connectivity within Tarakwa Ward and the wider Kesses Sub-County.
