Politrack Poll Shows Jane Kagiri in Commanding Lead in Laikipia Woman Rep Race
A new Politrack survey conducted in Laikipia County in March 2026 has placed Hon. Jane Kagiri of UDA firmly ahead in the Woman Representative race, garnering 43.6% of voter support.
Her closest challenger, Purity Kendi Gitonga, trails significantly at 12.5%, followed by Mary Miano of DCP with 10.3%. Other candidates—including Jennifer Koinante (popularly known as Mama Miradi), Rose Nyambura Maitai, Dorcas Nyokabi, and Florence Wachira—remain in single digits.
With a substantial sample size of 7,266 respondents, the poll offers one of the clearest snapshots yet of voter sentiment in the county. Notably, the opposition field remains highly fragmented, with no candidate emerging as a strong alternative to Kagiri.
At just 2.2%, undecided voters appear minimal—further reinforcing Kagiri’s strong early advantage. Analysts suggest that unless there is a significant political shift or consolidation among her rivals, the race currently tilts heavily in her favor.
Beyond the numbers, Hon. Kagiri continues to draw admiration from residents, many describing her as a leader with a “heart of gold,” marked by humility and a deep connection with the people. Supporters have expressed prayers for her continued strength, good health, and wisdom as she seeks to serve.
