NO BOARD IN MBOIKAMITI AFTER COURT RULING.
By Grace Waithaka.
Operations at MBOIKAMITI Company have been thrown into uncertainty following a court ruling delivered on March 16, 2025, which effectively nullified the existing board of directors.
In the landmark decision, the court declared that the current board was irregularly constituted, citing procedural violations and lack of transparency in its formation. As a result, all decisions, transactions, and directives issued under the authority of the said board have been rendered invalid pending further legal direction.
The ruling has sparked mixed reactions among the over 5,000 shareholders of MBOIKAMITI, many of whom have long protested alleged mismanagement and irregular land dealings linked to the company. A section of shareholders welcomed the decision, terming it a “victory for justice and accountability.”
“This is a step in the right direction. We have been fighting for transparency for years,” said one shareholder during a brief interview.
However, others expressed concern over the leadership vacuum created by the absence of a board, warning that the situation could stall ongoing efforts to reclaim disputed land and resolve internal disputes.
Legal experts note that the company may now be required to organize fresh elections under court supervision or appoint an interim management committee to oversee its affairs.
The Ministry of Lands and other relevant authorities are expected to provide guidance on the next steps to ensure stability and protect the interests of shareholders.
MBOIKAMITI has been at the center of a protracted land dispute involving claims of illegal acquisition by powerful individuals, leaving thousands of shareholders in limbo for years.
As stakeholders await further direction, calls for transparency, accountability, and swift resolution continue to dominate discussions surrounding the embattled company.
