Police in Luanda, Vihiga County, have intensified their fight against the production and distribution of illicit alcohol following a successful operation on Wednesday that led to the arrest of four suspects found in possession of more than 10 litres of the outlawed brew chang’aa.

The suspects were apprehended and taken into custody, where they are awaiting processing and subsequent arraignment in court. The seized brew was secured as evidence at the station.

The National Police Service (NPS) reaffirmed its commitment to eliminating illicit alcohol and narcotic substances, noting that such operations are part of a broader strategy to safeguard public health and security.

“We remain dedicated to ensuring a safe environment for all by curbing the distribution and consumption of illegal brews,” the NPS stated.
