Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi Donates Tent and Chairs to Three Star Self-Help Group in Nandi Gaa Village

Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has commended the commitment and teamwork of the Three Star Self-Help Group, a 20-member community initiative based in Nandi Gaa Village, Kabongo Sub-Location in Ngeria Ward.

Speaking during a visit to the group, Sudi praised the members for their unity, resilience, and motivation to improve livelihoods through collective action.

“I am impressed by the Three Star Self-Help Group, especially their dedication, perseverance, and strong team spirit,” Sudi said. “Their efforts demonstrate what communities can achieve when they come together with a shared vision.”

In recognition of their work, the MP donated a 100-seater tent and 100 plastic chairs to support the group’s activities. The equipment is expected to significantly boost the group’s capacity to host community meetings, seminars, economic empowerment forums, and other social events.

Boost to Community Empowerment

According to Sudi, the donation is part of a broader effort to strengthen grassroots groups across Kapseret by equipping them with tools that promote self-reliance and local development.

“These items will help the group organize their activities more effectively and offer a comfortable space for community engagement,” he said. “Empowering such groups is central to uplifting households and fostering unity at the community level.”

Group Members Express Gratitude

Leaders of the Three Star Self-Help Group welcomed the donation, saying it would reduce the costs associated with hiring equipment during events and will enable them to expand their income-generating initiatives.

They also acknowledged the MP’s continued support for community-based organisations in the region.

Strengthening Grassroots Development

Community development officers in the area noted that the donation aligns with ongoing efforts to encourage self-help groups to take lead roles in socio-economic transformation.

Three Star Self-Help Group, formed to promote financial empowerment and social cohesion among its members, plans to use the new tent and chairs to offer services to nearby villages as well.

Sudi reiterated his commitment to supporting similar groups across Kapseret, saying grassroots organisations remain key drivers of local development.
