Isiolo South MP Mohamed Tubi Dies While Undergoing Treatment in Nairobi
Isiolo South Member of Parliament, Hon. Mohamed Tubi, has passed away while receiving treatment at the Nairobi Hospital, Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetang’ula has announced.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Speaker Wetang’ula expressed his deep sorrow over the legislator’s death, describing Hon. Tubi as a dedicated and humble public servant who was committed to improving the lives of his constituents.
“It is with profound sadness that I inform the House and the nation of the untimely demise of Hon. Mohamed Tubi, the Member for Isiolo South Constituency. Hon. Tubi passed on this morning while undergoing treatment at the Nairobi Hospital,” said Speaker Wetang’ula.
Hon. Tubi, who was elected on a Jubilee Party ticket during the 2022 General Election, was serving his first term in Parliament. He was an active member of the Departmental Committee on Environment, Forestry and Mining, as well as the Public Petitions Committee, where colleagues lauded his diligence and calm demeanor.
Condolences have poured in from across the political divide, with leaders praising his commitment to environmental conservation, community empowerment, and youth development in Isiolo County.
Deputy Speaker Gladys Boss Shollei also paid tribute to the late MP, noting his “measured contributions” during debates and his “keen interest in issues affecting pastoralist communities.”
Details regarding burial arrangements are expected to be announced by the family in consultation with the Parliamentary Service Commission.
Hon. Tubi’s death marks a somber moment for Parliament and the nation, as lawmakers mourn the loss of yet another leader dedicated to public service.
