Governor Jonathan Bii Congratulates Pastor Wilson Birgen on Election as Greater Rift Valley SDA Conference President
Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii has congratulated Pastor Wilson Birgen on his election as the new President of the Greater Rift Valley Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church, commending his leadership and service to the faith community.
In a message shared shortly after the announcement, Governor Bii extended his warm wishes to Pastor Birgen and the entire team of newly elected SDA leaders, noting that their calling comes with great responsibility and divine purpose.
“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Pastor Wilson Birgen on his election as President of the Greater Rift Valley Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church,” said Governor Bii.
“May the Lord grant you wisdom, grace, and strength as you shepherd His flock and continue advancing the church’s mission of faith, service, and community transformation.”
Governor Bii lauded the Seventh-day Adventist Church for its long-standing role in promoting moral values, education, and health services within the Rift Valley region and across the country. He emphasized that faith-based organizations have been instrumental in supporting social and community development, especially in education and health outreach.
“The SDA Church continues to be a key partner in development through its schools, hospitals, and community initiatives that uplift lives,” the governor noted.
“As county leadership, we deeply appreciate the church’s contribution to the moral and social fabric of our society.”
He further encouraged the new SDA Conference leadership to continue working closely with government institutions and community organizations in fostering unity, peace, and holistic development across the Greater Rift Valley region.
“Leadership in the church is not only a spiritual responsibility but also a service to the wider community. I trust that under Pastor Birgen’s stewardship, the SDA Church will continue to be a beacon of hope, integrity, and compassion,” Governor Bii added.
The election of Pastor Wilson Birgen marks a new chapter for the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the region, which serves thousands of members across several counties, including Uasin Gishu, Nandi, Baringo, and parts of Trans Nzoia and Elgeyo Marakwet.
Governor Bii concluded his message by reaffirming his administration’s commitment to continued collaboration with faith-based institutions to promote unity, moral development, and service to humanity.“As the County Government of Uasin Gishu, we stand ready to work with the SDA Church and other religious organizations to advance our shared goals of community empowerment, peace, and progress,” he said.
