Government Advances Inclusive Development During President Ruto’s Tour of Garissa

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has reiterated the Government’s commitment to promoting inclusive development across all regions, emphasizing that ongoing investments in infrastructure, security, and social services are aimed at improving the lives of all Kenyans.

Murkomen spoke during a development tour of Garissa County, where he joined H.E. President William Samoei Ruto and other leaders as the President launched the construction of the 376-unit Masalani Affordable Housing Project in Ijara Constituency.

He noted that the initiative is a significant step toward providing decent and affordable housing while also stimulating economic activity in the region.

“The Affordable Housing Programme is designed not only to provide dignified homes but also to create employment and expand business opportunities for the local community,” Murkomen said.

During the visit, President Ruto also opened Yusuf Haji Girls Secondary School in Masalani, handed over a new school bus, and laid the foundation stone for Phase II of the school’s development. Murkomen highlighted these efforts as a reflection of the Government’s commitment to strengthening education and ensuring that learners across all regions have access to quality facilities.

He added that enhanced service delivery and improved security will continue to support the successful implementation of development projects in Garissa and beyond.
