Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Wisley Rotich Delivers New Ambulance to Boost Referrals in Kapsowar Ward
Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Wisley Rotich today presided over the handing-over of a new fully equipped ambulance to Kapsowar Health Centre in Kapsowar Ward, Marakwet West Sub-County, marking a major step toward strengthening emergency response and medical referral services in the region.
Governor Rotich noted that the ambulance will significantly improve the health centre’s ability to respond to emergencies and facilitate timely referrals, especially for critical cases requiring specialized care.
“We are committed to ensuring that no life is lost due to lack of proper transport during medical emergencies,” he said during the handover ceremony.
In addition to the ambulance launch, the county government organized a free medical camp where doctors from Kapsowar Mission Hospital worked alongside county medical staff. More than 500 residents were screened for various health conditions, receiving consultations, treatment, and referrals where necessary.
The Governor commended the collaborative spirit exhibited during the camp, emphasizing the importance of partnerships in improving healthcare delivery.
The event was attended by several leaders and senior county officials, including area MCA Abdi Kipruto, CEC for Health Monica Rotich, CEC for Roads Emmy Kosgei, Chief of Staff Nathan Tanui, and Chief Officer Jeremy Chirchir, among others.
Governor Rotich reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to investing in healthcare infrastructure and expanding access to quality medical services across all wards in Elgeyo Marakwet County.
