Warm Welcome in Bumala as Dr. Reuben Kigame Receives Portrait Gift from Bishop’s Son
Presidential aspirant Dr. Reuben Kigame received a heartfelt welcome in Bumala on Monday morning, marked by a touching moment involving the son of a prominent local bishop.
Dr. Kigame, known for his advocacy of a just and godly Kenya, was welcomed by Bishop Professor Christopher Ogola, a respected religious leader in the region, alongside hundreds of local residents and supporters.
The highlight of the visit came when Bishop Ogola’s 28-year-old son, Sammy Ayako Ogola, presented Dr. Kigame with a framed portrait of Ethiopian Emperor Yohannes IV, a 19th-century African ruler known for his courage, Christian faith, and resistance against foreign domination.
In a brief exchange, Sammy told Dr. Kigame that the gift was a symbol of inspiration, comparing the presidential hopeful’s leadership style and moral conviction to that of the revered emperor.
“Dr. Kigame inspires me the same way Emperor Yohannes IV inspired his people. His values, courage, and faith are qualities we need in a Kenyan leader today,” said Sammy.
Visibly moved by the gesture, Dr. Kigame expressed his gratitude and emphasized the importance of such moments in his journey toward national leadership.
“This was more than a gift—it was a reminder that young people are watching, and they’re longing for principled leadership,” Kigame said. “I’m honoured and challenged to live up to that expectation.”
The event in Bumala was part of Dr. Kigame’s continued engagement with grassroots communities across the country, where he is sharing his vision for a more inclusive, values-driven, and morally upright Kenya.
Dr. Kigame, a renowned gospel musician, academic, and advocate for persons with disabilities, has been a consistent voice for integrity in public life and national healing.
As the 2025 general elections approach, moments like these may play a key role in shaping public perception and energizing his growing support base, particularly among faith-driven and youth voters.
