As the Eldoret National Polytechnic’s 2025 Cultural Week entered its second day, the institution’s Cabinet Secretary for Sports, Culture, and Recreation, Cleophas Kiprotich—popularly known as Bartinga—urged students to turn up in large numbers to celebrate their rich cultural diversity.

Speaking at the Polytechnic moments before the day’s activities kicked off, Kiprotich emphasized the importance of appreciating the different cultural backgrounds represented at TENP.

> “We as Africans come from different cultures which everyone identifies with, and therefore we need to celebrate those cultural diversities within the Polytechnic. When we say ‘National Polytechnic,’ we mean people from across the country are here,” said the Students’ CS.

Cleophas further described the week as an avenue that fosters harmony and peaceful coexistence among students. He noted that understanding and appreciating one another’s traditions is key to building unity within the institution.

> “In this school, we even have people from other countries, and therefore we need to learn how different they are from other cultures so that we can appreciate theirs as we value our own. Culture is the backbone of our societies,” he  said.

The Eldoret National Polytechnic Cultural, which began on Wednesday, continues to draw vibrant participation from students, with the grand finale set for Saturday. The event celebrates art, music, food, and fashion—reminding students of the beauty and strength found in cultural diversity.
