Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards, Mary Muthoni Muriuki, today led the Nyandarua County chapter of the Jamii Imara Mashinani Initiative — a government programme bringing public services closer to citizens and strengthening engagement at the community level.
Residents had the opportunity to interact with multi-agency government teams, access information on available services, and share feedback on local priorities.
Health issues took centre stage, with discussions focusing on the rollout of the Social Health Insurance, the vital role of Community Health Promoters (CHPs) in preventive healthcare, and ongoing public health campaigns on hygiene and the fight against drug and substance abuse.
PS Muthoni reaffirmed the government’s resolve to ensure accessible, responsive, and people-centred healthcare, in line with the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
Also present were Cabinet Secretary for Tourism and Wildlife Dr. Rebecca Miano, Principal Secretary for Correctional Services Dr. Salome Beaco, Government Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura, and senior officials from various government agencies.
