Emurwa Dikir MP Johanna Ngeno Admitted to the Bar as Advocate of the High Court of Kenya

In a moment marked by solemnity, national pride, and personal triumph, Emurwa Dikir Member of Parliament Hon. Johanna Ngeno was today officially admitted to the Bar as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya at a ceremony held at the Milimani Law Courts, Nairobi.

Presided over by Chief Justice Hon. Martha Koome and graced by dignitaries including Hon. Valentina Pavličić, Chief Justice of Montenegro, the historic event also saw the attendance of representatives from the Office of the Attorney General, the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, the Law Society of Kenya, and other key figures in Kenya’s legal and political landscape.

Speaking moments after taking the Oath of Admission, Hon. Ngeno described the occasion not only as a personal milestone, but as a reaffirmation of his commitment to justice, service, and leadership.

“This is not merely a personal triumph, but a solemn covenant—to uphold justice, to preserve the dignity of the law and to serve my people and my country with fidelity,” said Hon. Ngeno.

He continued, “This is a sacred trust which demands courage to defend the weak, wisdom to pursue equity, and integrity to safeguard the very soul of justice. As I don the robes of an Advocate, I do so with humility and with the full knowledge that the law is both a shield for the innocent and a sword against injustice.”

In a passionate pledge echoing both legal tradition and patriotic duty, Hon. Ngeno vowed to remain a steadfast voice for the common good.

“For our beloved nation, this moment renews my resolve as a leader: to ensure that the principles of fairness, accountability, and the rule of law are not lofty ideals, but living realities for every Kenyan. And so, I pledge—to God, to my Country, and to the People of Kenya—that my voice in the courts and in leadership shall ever remain a voice for justice, truth, and the common good,” he declared.

Quoting the Latin maxim, Fiat Justitia Ruat Caelum—“Let justice be done though the heavens fall”—Hon. Ngeno’s words resonated deeply with the occasion’s theme of judicial integrity and service to the nation.

His admission comes at a time when Kenya’s legal and political systems continue to evolve in the face of emerging challenges, with a growing demand for ethical leadership and robust advocacy.
